Basic Life Insurance

Life insurance can protect your survivors from financial difficulty in the event of your death. Hexcel provides Basic Life insurance to all Kent union-represented employees automatically — no enrollment is required — and at no cost to you. Your coverage is $10,000.

Voluntary Life Insurance Options

You have the option to purchase additional life insurance coverage for yourself via payroll deduction. You can select up to increments of $10,000 up to a maximum of $200,000.

Note that current employees who want to increase existing coverage may do so but that evidence of insurability may be required. Submit your Evidence of Insurability application to USAble. You may find your Evidence of Insurability application on Workday during the annual enrollment process. Review your final Elections Summary if you are required to complete an Evidence of Insurability application.

AD&D Insurance

You are eligible for coverage if you are an active full-time Kent Union employee working 30 or more hours per week. You will be eligible to elect insurance for you and your dependents on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

AD&D insurance can provide assistance if you suffer accidental dismemberment or death resulting from an accident. Hexcel provides Basic AD&D to all Kent union-represented employees automatically — no enrollment is required — and at no cost to you. Your coverage is $10,000.

Voluntary AD&D Insurance

You have the option to purchase additional accidental death and dismemberment insurance for yourself based on your basic annual earnings and hourly rate up to a maximum of $250,000.

Spouse AD&D Insurance

You may elect coverage for a lawful spouse underage 70. You may select $50,000 of coverage for your spouse.

Child AD&D Insurance

You may elect coverage for your unmarried dependent children who are under age 19 (or under age 23 if they are full-time students). Children must be dependent upon you for support and maintenance and must reside with you. You may select $10,000 of coverage for your children. The premium is the same regardless of the number of children covered.
